SAC is pleased to expand our accreditation scheme for Inspection Bodies to include Site Supervision Firms, effective from 1st September 2026.
The new accreditation programme provides assurance for supervision and inspection on site carried out by competent firms for site supervision works. With the increasing complexity and large-scale building projects involve more specialist works and sophisticated methods of construction requiring a broad range of competencies to supervise, accredited inspections become more crucial to ensure various considerations are well-addressed by both the organisation and its inspectors. Accreditation provides independent attestation that inspection bodies possess the technical competence, qualified personnel, and robust management systems necessary to perform thorough building, quality & safety assessments. This programme helps building owners and developers provide public confidence that their building and construction works have been examined by organisations in accordance to internationally recognised standards.
Interested applicants will undergo assessment based on ISO/IEC 17020:2026, along with the relevant SAC documents and the following Technical Note, under the accreditation scheme for Inspection Bodies:
Technical Note: SSF 01 – Specific Requirements for the Accreditation of Inspection Bodies for Site Supervision Firms
The application for accreditation is now open through SAC’s Accreditation Management portal, SACINET (opens in new tab)
